**Discover how Acuscope and Myopulse microcurrent therapy at Advanced Healing Therapies may help you work towards improved comfort, flexibility and movement.**
Have you been living with an injury for a year or longer?
Perhaps you pulled a muscle, injured a tendon, suffered a sprain, had an operation or experienced an accident. The initial injury may have happened months or even years ago, but you still experience stiffness, discomfort, tightness or restricted movement.
Some days are better than others. You might manage your normal activities, only to find that the pain returns after walking, exercising, working or sitting for too long.
Perhaps you have already tried physiotherapy, massage, other complementary therapies or exercises. You may have experienced some improvement, but you still haven’t regained the comfort and freedom of movement you hoped for.
If this sounds familiar, please don’t assume that you simply have to put up with it.
At Advanced Healing Therapies in Binley Woods, Coventry, I offer a different approach using the Acuscope and Myopulse microcurrent therapy systems to support people experiencing ongoing muscular discomfort, tightness and movement difficulties.
Why can an old injury still cause problems?
Healing is a complex process. Although the initial injury may have healed, the affected area doesn’t always return to its previous condition.
Depending on the original injury, you may be experiencing:
- Muscle tightness and tension: muscles can remain uncomfortable or feel restricted.
- Reduced flexibility: stretching or moving a joint may feel difficult.
- Scar tissue and adhesions: changes in connective tissue following an injury or surgery may contribute to stiffness or restricted movement.
- Muscle guarding: surrounding muscles may remain tense as you try to protect an uncomfortable area.
- Persistent pain: the nervous system and other tissues may continue to contribute to discomfort long after the original injury.
There isn’t one explanation for every long-standing injury. The important thing is to understand what may be contributing to your symptoms and consider an approach appropriate to your individual circumstances.
Introducing Acuscope and Myopulse therapy
At Advanced Healing Therapies, I use two specialist microcurrent devices that work in complementary ways.
Acuscope — working with the nervous system
The Acuscope delivers very low-level electrical currents and is designed to interact with the electrical properties of the tissues being treated.
It is used as part of a treatment approach intended to support comfort and the function of the nervous system.
For someone experiencing a long-standing injury, treatment may be considered where ongoing discomfort or sensitivity is affecting everyday movement.
Myopulse — focusing on muscles and connective tissue
The Myopulse is designed for use with muscular and connective-tissue complaints involving areas such as muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
It uses microcurrent stimulation rather than the strong muscle contractions associated with conventional electrical muscle stimulators.
At Advanced Healing Therapies, Myopulse treatments are used with the aim of addressing muscular tightness and discomfort and supporting improved mobility.
Together, the Acuscope and Myopulse offer a specialist microcurrent approach that may be considered alongside appropriate rehabilitation and other healthcare advice.
Can microcurrent therapy support tissue repair?
Our bodies have natural repair mechanisms. Cells participate in processes involving energy production, protein synthesis and tissue remodelling.
Researchers are investigating how microcurrent electrical stimulation may influence some of these processes. Early research suggests potential benefits in certain tissue-healing and scar-related applications, although the evidence remains limited and results vary between studies.
It is important to distinguish this research from a proven outcome for a particular device or individual injury.
At Advanced Healing Therapies, the aim is to support your recovery and help you work towards better function. Acuscope and Myopulse should not be described as guaranteed to grow new cells, regenerate damaged tissue or eliminate fibrosis.
What about scar tissue and muscle fibrosis?
Scar tissue develops as part of the body’s natural healing response. Fibrosis involves an accumulation of fibrous connective tissue, which can sometimes affect the way tissues move and function.
Not every scar causes a problem, and not every stiff or painful injury is caused by fibrosis.
Microcurrent therapy is being investigated for its potential role in tissue healing and scar modulation. However, it cannot currently be guaranteed that Acuscope or Myopulse will remove established scar tissue or reverse muscle fibrosis.
Where scar-related tightness or restricted movement is suspected, an individual assessment can help determine whether treatment may be appropriate and whether further medical or rehabilitation advice is needed.
What improvements might you be working towards?
Every person and injury is different. Depending on the underlying problem, treatment goals may include:
- Improving comfort during everyday activities.
- Reducing the sensation of muscular tightness.
- Working towards greater flexibility.
- Improving comfortable range of movement.
- Making walking, reaching or other daily movements easier.
- Supporting a return to activities that have become difficult.
- Developing a more manageable approach to a long-standing injury.
These are goals rather than guaranteed results. Some people may notice a change in their symptoms, while others may experience limited benefit or require a different approach.
My priority is to understand what you are experiencing and help you make an informed decision about your options.
Why consider Advanced Healing Therapies if you’ve tried other treatments?
If you’ve already invested time, money and effort into recovering from an injury, it can be frustrating when the problem continues.
You may be wondering whether another therapy is worth trying.
At Advanced Healing Therapies, I take the time to discuss your history, the difficulties you are experiencing and what you would like to achieve.
Your treatment can then be considered in the context of your individual needs, with progress reviewed rather than promising a particular outcome.
Microcurrent therapy may complement appropriate physiotherapy, rehabilitation exercises or other healthcare recommendations. It is not intended to replace necessary medical assessment or established treatment.
An injury that remains painful or restricted after 12 months deserves proper attention, particularly if the symptoms have not been fully explained.
Take the next step towards moving more comfortably
You don’t have to accept ongoing discomfort without exploring your options.
If an old injury is still affecting your flexibility, movement or quality of life, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your circumstances and explain how Acuscope and Myopulse therapy are used at Advanced Healing Therapies.
